My 5 fave mom blogs that you should check out:

Writer: Sarah TremblaySarah Tremblay

How many of these amazing moms do you know? I'm going to share some of the top bloggers in the special needs parenting arena that have helped me and inspired me to share our family's stories.

By the end of this article you will have some go-to places to find common ground with other parents, recipes and craft ideas to work on with your kids, sleep tips, special needs product reviews and even some seminars available to take to work on yourself and help your family thrive.

So let's dig in!

is a lovely diary of a mom with a boy called Cooper (and three other children) who has Autism. It also contains blog posts written by moms from all over the world with children with diverse diagnoses and needs. It details the ups and downs, the wins and grief that come with being a family with a child with special needs and how those needs touch each and every person.

is a beautiful blog that has some pretty great ideas on how to engage your special kids, manage yourself as a parent and crafts and cooking ideas! We all know how the mealtime struggle can be an extra worry with sensory kids and we often have extra nutrition concerns to navigate. There are lots of great ideas on this site to get you whipping up fun activities with your kids and some yummy snacks and meals too.

is a lifestyle blog for parents of kids with special needs. It was even awarded a Top 30 Disabled Child Parenting Blog! My favourite section is the one on sleep. We have struggled with sleep with our youngest since she was 4 months old and I always feel like a lot the info out there doesn’t apply to kids with special needs and this page touches on the added struggles we face every night.

is a great place to find info about parenting, home schooling and some wonderful reviews about books, reading and spelling games. There’s another great sleep article, and the author even has a book called Beyond the Diagnosis: the path to thriving as a special needs parent.

is a very popular blog from a mom who also happens to be an educator. She offers articles on self-care, connection with family and spouses, understanding behaviours and development, and even a very cool (and free) Sensory Processing Starter Kit. If you’re looking for tools to help you “Calm the Chaos” at your house, I think you’ll really like her page.

Each and every one of these blogs are the brave stories, helpful hints and even some great resources to help us move forward with our kids without having to re-invent the wheel every time. When you don't really have a community in your local area of moms who "get you" then these are some great places to find your village.

I have dreams of being that place you come to for community, but since I'm just getting started, I hope you'll hang with me while finding everything else you may need for your family. I hope these blogs help.

If you have any blogs you love that didn't make my list, please share them in the comments below, I'm always looking for more mamas to inspire me!
